This is specifically Actias dubernardi and is considered to be one of the most spectacular tailed moths in the world. This specimen is a male sitting on pine bark. The females are entirely pale green and have shorter tails. This is an example of sexual dimorphism. The species is native to China and the caterpillar is known to feed on pine trees.
