Banded Sexton Beetle (Nicrophorus investigator) in Bitterroot National Forest, Southwest Montana. These beetles seek out small, dead animals which they then bury and lay their eggs upon. The small mite visible on the beetle's thorax is not harming the beetle but merely hitching a ride to its future nuptial larder.
