A bee-like robber fly of the genus Laphria with prey in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. From its size it's most probably L. grossa, a large species found over most of the eastern half of North America. This and several other very similar species are exceptional mimics of bumblebees. They are voracious predators of other insects, which they seize in flight. Robber flies are members of the fly family Asilidae.
