Hagen Canyon trailhead, Red Rock Canyon State Park, Mojave Desert, California, USA (Apr 2007) Red Rock Canyon State Park is located in Mojave Desert in Southern California, near town of Cantil. It features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations. The park was a home to the Kawaiisu Indians and was on the Native American trade route for thousands of years. There are a number of important paleontology sites as well as remains of 1890s-era mining operations. The park has been the location of several movies, scenes from Jurassic Park were filmed here in Hagen Canyon. (Apr 2007)
