Knuckle boom vehicle with a shear jaw in front of Sewage treatment plant on Newtown Creek. Newtown Creek is an estuary on the border between Brooklyn and Queens, in New York City. On September 27, 2010 Newtown Creek was declared a Superfund site due to the 30 million gallons of spilled oil, discarded toxins and raw sewage from the NYC sewage system it contains. The Greenpoint Oil Spill is more than twice as large as the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.
