At Didyma in Ionia, Asia Minor, an oracle existed even before the immigration of Ionian Greeks in the 10th c. BC. It became Asia Minor's most influential oracle with a colossal temple dedicated to Apollo. A Sacred Way built by Emperor Traian connected the Didymeion with Miletus, Turkey.
