The spiral minaret of the Islamic Center building, also known as Kassem Darwish Fakhroo Center or simply KDF, dominates the skyline of old Doha, Qatar's capital city. The Center's spiral minaret is an architectural pastiche of the minarets of the Ibn Tulun mosque in Cairo, Egypt, and the Great Mosque of Samarra, Iraq.
