Pistachio harvest in Cuyama Valley, Santa Barbara County, California. Two vehicles run down each row in unison. One vehicle reaches out and vigorously shakes the tree, knocking all ripe fruit into a catchment with conveyor belt at the bottom. An estimate of time required for each tree is about 15 seconds. Fruits can be seen in the air as the shaking is caught in process.
