On the southern coast of the Greek island of Crete, the village of Lendas (also Lebena or Levin) served as a port to Gortys in Greco-Roman times. It was known as a spa and its Asklepieion sanctuary housed a medicinal spring. The image shows what's remaining of the Asklepios temple (2nd century AD) and in the upper left corner, of an early Christian basilica (5/6th century).
