Aquarius is a constellation of the zodiac. Its name is Latin for, water-carrier or cup-carrier. Aquarius is the eleventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation Aquarius. The Sun transits this area on average between January 21 to February 18 each year. Capricornus is often called Capricorn, especially when referring to the corresponding astrological sign. Its name is Latin for "horned goat" or "goat horn", and it is commonly represented in the form of a sea-goat: a mythical creature that is half goat, half fish. The Sun transits this area of the zodiac from December 22 to January 19 each year. They are two of the 48 constellations described by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and remain two of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union. A Celestial Atlas (1822) by Alexander Jamieson, inspired by the star atlas of Johann Elert Bode, but restricted itself to stars that could be seen with the naked eye. Comprising a systematic display of the heavens in a series of thirty maps illustrated by scientific description of their contents and accompanied by catalogues of the stars and astronomical exercises, plate 21, 1822.
