Human feces consist of undigested food residues and a great variety of bacteria. SEM shows a very large proportion of the bacteria and, thus, a high health hazard that the bacteria may contaminate food sources if hygienic rules are not adhered to, particularly if the feces contain pathogenic bacteria such as toxigenic Escherichia coli, Campylobacter jejuni, Salmonella ssp. etc. Enhanced SEM, image width: 12.8 micrometers, magnification: 7810x if the image is printed 10 cm wide.
