A ring of Triodia sp. grass, a genus of tussock-forming grass endemic to Australia. The ring is formed as the grass grows outward from one original hummock, which hummock grows old and is blown away, leaving the outer ring of new growth. This phenomenon is known as a "Spinifex ring" because the Triodia grass is commonly misidentified as Spinifex grass.
