Fernleaf Lousewort (Pedicularis procera), also called Giant Lousewort. This is a large herb with basal leaves that are fernlike. The reproductive spike can be several feet tall, containing hundreds of irregular pink flowers on a single thick stalk. It is found in woodlands and clearings of montane and alpine plant communities in the western U.S. Photographed on Sandia Mtn., New Mexico.
