A mix of pea seeds with combinations of four traits studied by Gregor Mendel in his genetics heredity experiments. Mendel uncovered the basic principles of heredity by experimenting with garden pea traits such as seed color and seed shape texture. Wrinkled seeds are a recessive trait. Yellow color is dominant to green. The wrinkled trait is caused by a gene mutation resulting in a defective, inactive starch branching enzyme. Present here are seeds that are yellow smooth, yellow wrinkled, green smooth and green wrinkled.
