Benedict's Solution, or Benedict's Reagent, is used to test for the presence of simple sugars. The reagent consists of copper sulfate which interacts with reducing sugars like monosaccharides and some disaccharides to make a colored product. Here the heated blue Benedict's Solution has turned from blue to orange indicating the presence of sugar in milk.
