The Ares I-X test rocket awaiting its launch from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on October 28, 2009. This was the first test rocket of the Constellation Program, meant to be NASA's replacement for the Space Shuttle program. In 2011 the Obama administration removed funding for Constellation, concerned by price increases.
