White-tailed Deer - doe and fawn, white color phase, rare color phase resulting from double recessive white genes which occurs rarely naturally (Odocoileus virginianus). New York, USA. These white individuals occur in unusually high proportion on a former military base in New York state - Their numbers on this reserve increased due to artificial selection brought about by hunting normal color phase individuals and protecting white color morphs.
