Hibernating Crab (Austrothelphusa transversa). Lajamanu on the northern edge of the Tanami Desert, Northern Territory, Australia. This freshwater crab of the dry areas of inland Australia hibernates for 6 months or so during the dry season. It has no recognised English name. formerly Holthuisana transversa.
