Australian Brushtail Possum - with seed husks on its nose as evidence of feeding on a bird feeder at night. (Trichosurus vulpecula). Found Australia-wide, but declining in arid outback. A common urban and suburban inhabitant, this species occurs in woodland, where it feeds on leaves and fruit in the canopy, or on the ground. It sleeps in tree-hollows during the day, but in urban areas is frequently found in roof cavities.
