Miss Connie Eddis is a great believer in exercise, and to keep herself in trim she makes a speciality of ball-punching. This picture shows her engaged in that persuasive art in her country home, the Beeches, Addlestone, Surrey. Connie Ediss was an actress at the Gaiety Theatre in London and a contemporary of Lily Elsie and Gabrielle Ray. She appeared in the Gaiety's The Orchid' in 1903, shortly after this image was published.
