Grand Princess Tatiana Nikolaievna (1897-1918), daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsaritsa Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia, granddaughter of Princess Alice, as Commander-in-Chief of the 8th Vosnesensky Lancers, on horseback, outside the Alexander Palace at Tasrskoe Selo, c.1913. Tatiana's ankle-length dark green uniform with its bright yellow facings, collar and piping, and impossibly slim waist, survives to this day.
