View of St Isaac Cathedral in Isaac Square, St Petersburg, Russia. It was dedicated to St Isaac of Dalmatia, a patron saint of Peter the Great (an equestrian statue of Peter the Great can be seen on the left). Construction began in 1818 and was completed in 1858. At the foot of the postcard is a coachman with his troika, drawn by three white horses.
