Gordon McLennan (1924-2011), former leader of the Communist Party of Great Britain, its National Organiser 1966-1975 and its General Secretary 1976-1989. When the CPGB was dissolved in 1991 he joined the Communist Party of Scotland. Seen here looking at a newspaper with two others, outside the Houses of Parliament, at the Westminster Vigil for Disarmament, a daily, one-hour vigil which took place from June 1981 until June 1982, organised by the World Disarmament Campaign.
