Israel - Church on Mount Tabor in Lower Galilee, at the eastern end of the Jezreel Valley. This postcards shows the Church of Transfiguration at the summit, which is divided into Eastern Orthodox (northeast) and Roman Catholic (southeast) areas. Traditionally believed to be the site where the Transfiguration of Christ took place, an event in the Gospels in which Jesus is transfigured upon an unnamed mountain and speaks with Moses and Elijah. Completed in 1924.
