In a few years, flight will be in vogue all over the country, and to fly will be one of the commonplaces of daily life'. The 'Grande Semaine d'Aviation' was intended to show French air superiority but it was in fact an American, Glen H. Curtiss, who won the Gordon Bennett race at the event.
