Flight Lieutenant Kenneth Harold Francis Letford, as he appeared in the Illustrated London News in 1949, when he was awarded a bar to his Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry in assisting HMS Amethyst whilst stricken in the River Yangtse. Letford also holds a Distinguished Service Order.
