Piccadilly Circus, 1911' ? rainy night time scene, with crowds of people, cars, buses etc. The artist has turned away from the new electrically illuminated Bovril and Schweppes advertisements which were installed on the north-east fa?ades in 1910, and is looking down fast the London Pavillion towards Leicester Square. In the middle ground stands Alfred Gilbert's Shaftsbury Memorial Fountain with the angel of Christian charity, later to metamorphose into Eros, the God of Love, on the top.
