Page from The Illustrated London News featuring photographs of a modernist building in Turin, a Fiat car factory with a motor track on the roof. The track was built roughly in the shape of an ancient Roman chariot-racing arena, and was used for testing and running-in the products of the works, without the necessity for new cars to leave the factory for tests on public roads. The factory closed in 1982 and was re-built as a public space called the Lingotto Building.
