This floor tile would have been part of a central motif formed over a number of tiles, depicting a pair of greyhounds on a leaf underneath a crown. The curved blue motif probably formed part of an enclosing arch that is comparable to designs by the 16th century French tile maker, Masseot Abaquesne. Found during the 1964 excavation of the Banqueting House, this tile is thought to be from Henry VIII's rebuilding of the palace in the 1530s
