Sir Charles Napier (1782-1853), conqueror of Sind. pursuing the robber tribes. He was previously wounded and taken prisoner while serving under Sir John Moore in Spain, 1809. After taking Sind in 1843 he famously telegraphed home in Latin 'Peccavi' (I have sinned). Captured Traki, stronghold of northern hill tribes, 1845. Resigned 1850.
