The clock tower of the church of St. Photinie at Izmir (Smyrna), Turkey. St. Photinie was the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well mentioned in St. John's Gospel (Chap. IV). 'Photinie' means 'light', because she received 'the light' from the 'lightgiver', Jesus Christ. Martyred at the hands of Roman Emperor Nero.
