Ohrdruf Concentration Camp - General George S. Patton (1885 - 1945, left), General Omar Bradley (1893 - 1981, second from left) and General Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890 - 1969, right) visit Ohrdruf forced labor camp near Gotha in Germany, following its liberation by U.S. troops on April 4, 1945. The man in the center, wearing a scarf, posed as one of the survivors and served as a guide for General Eisenhower and his entourage. General Patton wrote in his memoirs that the next day the guide was killed by some of the inmates, because he was not a prisoner at all, but one of the executioners. Photo by William Newhouse.
