An apology in The Graphic which had, in January 1928, run a story claiming that a Greek Orthodox priest had pickled and eaten his wife after she had fallen down some stairs and broken her neck. The Graphic were later informed the story was untrue and the portrait was of a 'much-respected deacon on the Secretariat of the Orthodox Archbishop of Athens'.
