Fossil of Diplomystus dentatus, a species of the extinct genus Diplomystus (meaning forked tail) of freshwater fish that thrived during the Eocene Epoch around 50 million years ago. This specimen is from the Green River Formation, in Wyoming, USA. These Eocene sedimentary deposits are renowned for their rich stock of fresh water fish and other fauna. Length of this specimen is 38 cm.
