Scharnhorst at Grossg?rschen, 2 May 1813, (1936). 'Scharnhorst Bei Grossg?rschen, 2 Mai 1813'. Prussian general Gerhard von Scharnhorst (1755-1813) was wounded in the foot during the battle of L?tzen, (Gro?g?rschen), in Germany. Although the wound was minor, it could not be tended to immediately. Infection set in and Scharnhorst died on 28 June.
