Former Greenham Common Airbase, Newbury, West Berkshire, 2018. Aerial view from the south-west. Opened in 1942, the airfield was used by the RAF and USAAF during the Second World War. Greenham Common became famous during the 1980s due to presence of peace demonstrators protesting at the siting of American nuclear cruise missiles at the base.
