'M. Park', (1771-1806), 1830. Mungo Park (1771-1806) Scottish explorer of West Africa, noted for exploration of the upper Niger River c1796, his book 'Travels in the Interior Districts of Africa', theorised the Niger and Congo merged to become the same river.
