An engraving depicting Juniper: The juice of young leaves and berries, taken in vine was recommended against snake bite and the Plague. Juniper oil was prescribed for toothache and gout. The dried powdered resin was used to treat worms in children, and! piles. The berries were used in the production of gin, and the resin mixed wii with linseed oil provided a varnish.
