Bernoulli on fluid dynamics, 18th century. Diagrams on fluid levels and pressure from 'Hydrodynamica' (1738) by Swiss mathematician and physicist Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782). This work was published in Basel. It was one of the most influential books in fluid dynamics theory. Bernoulli established much of the mathematics behind hydrostatic systems before expanding them to explain various aspects of fluid flows. This was of great importance in naval architecture, but is best known as the foundation of aerodynamic theory.
