Nacrite Al2Si2O5(OH)4 is a clay mineral and is polymorphous with (i.e. a form of) kaolinite. Its crystal system is monoclinic and it occurs in amorphous (non crystalline) habitat, in pearly, white to yellow or brownish colours. This sample is from Rochlitz in Saxony, Germany, where it was first found and identified in 1807.
