Fossil of Xenacanthus sp. , a genus of freshwater shark that lived worldwide from the late Devonian well up to the end of the Triassic period. This specimen is from lower Permian deposits in the Saar-Nahe Basin of southwest Germany. Actual length is some 600 mm from nose to tail.
