This handscroll, which is a close copy of Yuan Jiang's original composition, records in detail the appearance of the Zhanyuan, or 'Gazing Garden, ' of Nanjing, which was part of the estate of a Manchu official; thus, it preserves a valuable record of an otherwise lost garden of the early eighteenth century
