Replica of a hand painting made for Caverne du Pont d'Arc, France, a copy of Chauvet Cave, Ardeche, France. It was built to preserve the original cave site for research and allow tourists to appreciate the prehistoric art without damaging it. Chauvet Cave contains some of the best-preserved Palaeolithic (stone age) figurative cave paintings in the world. These paintings are thought to be around 36,000 years old. The Caverne du Pont-d'Arc site opened to the public on the 25th April 2015.
