The Sino-Sikh War or Sino-Dogra War (pinyin: Sanba Zhanzhang; literally 'Dogra War') was fought from May 1841 to August 1842 between the Qing Empire and the forces of the Sikh governor of Jammu, Gulab Singh, after he invaded western Tibet. The Dogra army was routed and the Qing counterattacked but were defeated in Ladakh. The Treaty of Chushul was signed in 1842 maintaining the status quo ante bellum.
