This painting, which may have been exhibited as Bright Weather after a Gale in the 1869 RA exhibition, is drenched in sunlight, with an open stretch of blue sea out to the hills behind Criccieth and Pwellhi beyond. It is uncharacteristically bright and impressionistic for this period of his life.
