Moonrise on the evening of September 21, 2021, the evening before the September equinox. The Moon was a day past Full as a Harvest Moon. But the position of the Moon below the ecliptic this year meant it rose closer to due east this night, the night after Full. The Moon is usually not Full at an equinox, but when it is, as it almost was this year, it rises close to due east and sets close to due west, as the Sun does, because the Full Moon lies opposite the Sun. The star at left is Capella.
