Duchess Will Unleash Niagara Power : The Gigantic 1,828,000 horse power Sir Adam Beck-Niagara generating station No. 2, to be opened by the Duchess of Kent on August 30 during her tour of Canada. The new station, created on the 300-foot cliffs of the lower Niagara Gorge, Ontario, adjoins its 1921 predecessor (extreme right). Just three-and-a-half years ago, the site of the new power station was bare rock. On the side of the cliffs, and blending into their natural grandeur, are the Powerhouse and penstocks of the new station. Above these are two canals, the new one at left dwarfing the older channel.
