Master-baker Jocob Kaith - The late Mr Jack Raith. If ever a single race vindicated a man's foresight, it was the Australian Four-year-old Championship at Harold Park on Friday night. The man in question was the late Jack Raith who was scaffold at in some high circles of trotting more than 10 years ago when he said what Harold Park needed was regular races for young horses; frequent use of the mobile gate (banned at the time); and more races over short distances between one mile and 1? miles. March 12, 1953.
