On To Rangoon Men of the 14th Army crawl up a nullah prior to bayoneting the Japs from a hill position 4 miles south of Pyawbwe. Troops of the 14th Army hurling the Jap back in an all out drive towards Rangoon shattered an enemy stand at Pyawbwe, 22 miles south east of Meiktila, Burma. More than 1,100 Japanese were killed and a number of tanks, guns and ammunition dumps destroyed in this headquarters and concentration point of enemy escaping from the North. April 01, 1945.
