Capture of Yikiang Shan - Chinese "Liberation Army" troops stormed and captures the nationalist held island of Yikiangshan, one of the Tachen group, on Jan 18 in a sudden assault support by naval and air forces. According to communist sources in Peiping infantrymen of the "people's liberation army" as they penetrated the nationalist positions after the beaches had been stormed.
